In May, Facebook announced Shops for Facebook and Instagram, a new way for users to sell their products on social media. Prior to Facebook Marketplace, there wasn’t a direct way to sell or buy the things you saw on social media. You would have to ultimately purchase the products you saw online on other platforms such as Etsy, Amazon, or other e-Commerce sites. Now, however, Facebook is changing the game… yet again.
While Facebook and Instagram are trying to make it easier for their users to host their own stores, there are a few requirements users have to meet. First, you must receive a notification from Facebook that you are eligible to utilize this new feature. If you don’t have a Facebook Commerce Account, you will need to set one up within the Commerce Manager. After you have been selected and have received that notification, your Facebook Page Shop must:

According to Facebook, Shop owners will be able to customize storefronts, add unlimited products, be able to promote them on social media, and take payments. Previously, shop owners have had to pay for their own website, shop hosting, commissions, all in addition to paying for ads for social media.
For now, Facebook and Instagram are rolling out these options to select accounts. Therefore, these options may not be available for everyone at this time. Check back from time to time for more exciting updates!
